Car is a replica of a Mitsubishi Lancer WRC. Car was brought from Europe by Clinton Cunningham for use in 2015 NZRC. As of 2016 the car is being prepared by Possum Bourne Motorsport.
Throughout the 2016 season the combination of car and driver struggled, with reliability issues plaguing the car for the season. Success finally came for Cunningham in the final event of the rally season, winning the Rally of Waitomo with the assistant of the very experienced Crunch Bennett. The partnership continued with Bennett and Cunningham teaming up for an assault of the 2017 NZRC in a new Ford Fiesta 4WD proto with the running gear from this car being used to build the new Fiesta.
