History:
The car made it's competition debut in the hands of Chris Lange, who would go on to campaign it throughout the 2005 and 2006 NZRC seasons. Lange would be a regular competitor in the now defunct Kiwi 2 class, racking up experience, which would lead to an assault on the NZRC 2WD class in the hands of a brand new Fiesta ST Sporting Trophy car.
In 2009 it was purchased by Lee Robson, to be used in North Island events. 2010 would see the car, in the hands of Robson, win the Top Half Rally Series. An amazing feat for a 1600cc 2WD car, in an era dominated by the formidable 4WD turbo cars.
Early 2011 would see an upgrade to a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 4 for Robson and it was sold to Japanese native Shinji Ogura. It was run on North Island events with the assistance of Dale Perry of RallyDrive NZ. In 2015 the car was bought by Hayden Spatcher and used in mainland events around the Canterbury area. It was then bought by Paul Richards.
In 2016 it was then purchased by Queenstown resident Mike Sheehan and used in events throughout the bottom of the South Island. It made it's rally debut with Sheehan at the helm on the infamous 2016 Catlins Rally, which was noted for it's extreme icy conditions.
