The car was built by Possum Bourne Motorsports for the MotorImage Team for Cody Crocker to use in the 2009 APRC. Car then purchased by Emma Gilmour in 2010 for use in the 2010 APRC and 2010-2012 NZRC.
Car purchased by Ben Hunt in 2012 for use in the 2013 NZRC. Hunt scored his first rally win the same year cementing his spot as one of the sports rising stars.
Hunt again pushed hard the following season in 2014 battling with Mason on numerous occasions, finally settling for the runner-up spot in the championship. After the withdrawal of Richard Mason from the NZRC, 2015 saw a hugely successful year for the Hunt Motorsport team with Ben Hunt taking his first New Zealand Rally Championship title.
2016 would see an upgrade for Ben Hunt and the car was sold to Carl Davies to use in the NZRC. Davies gathered experience in his first year in the New Zealand Rally Championship, nabbing a podium spot in the forests at Rally Canterbury. The 2017 season would see an upgrade to a Toyota Yaris AP4 car for Davies and the car was sold to Indian APRC competitor PG Abhilash. Abhilash would debut the car at the APRC Rally Whangarei and campaign a full APRC season in the car. 2018 would see Abhilash compete in the 2018 UAE Rally Championship.
In 2023, the car was brought back into New Zealand, having been purchased by Richard Fairhall. It is currently undergoing a rebuild.
