Subaru Impreza WRX GC8
Number Plates:
TX3032 > BJE596
Driver/Ownership:
1995 - 1999: Leigh Marston
Ray Wilson
2005 - 2009: Karl Douglas
2000: Sold to Vanuatu
History:
The car originally built as a group A car for Leigh Marston in Christchurch and competed in many Mainland rallies and rally sprints including Ashley Forest and Race to the Sky. The car’s roll cage was built by Possum Bourne Motorsport. Fire wall modified for Group A pedal box etc. The next known ownership was Ray Wilson with the car potentially leased to a Japanese driver for Rotorua International rally.
The car was purchased as a rolling shell and reassembled in 2005 by Karl Douglas. It ran in a lot of events (North Island only) Up spec’ing the car along the way. Around March 2009 Karl bought Leigh Marston’s Version 8 GDB Impreza (which funnily enough, was his replacement for the GC8) as a rolling shell. This car was sold then to Vanuatu and apparently, the car is still running it today.
