History:
In 2013, Phil Campbell would debut this brand new Ford Fiesta R2, built from an M-Sport supplied kit. The car was built in NZ to right hand drive spec. Campbell would use the car in 2013 for the NZRC and Xtreme Series alongside fellow competitor Josh Marston who would also use an identical spec Fiesta R2. 2013 was a very exciting year for the two R2's with strong battles throughout the entire season, showing the skills and pace of both drivers, and the potential of these quick FWD, factory spec machines.
2014 would see a step up in machinery for Campbell with the little fiesta sold to the young Max Bailey, who himself was stepping up from the Xtreme series in his quick little Levin. Bayley was quickly up to speed in the Fiesta, showing a lot of potential and improving in his first season in the car. Stepping up in pace in 2015, Bailey would assert himself as one of the fastest 2WD cars in the country, regularly fighting it out with the fire breathing RX7 of Marcus Van Klink for 2WD honours on many events. 2016 would see a limited programme for Bailey, only competing in a couple of events in the car.
2017 and the car sold to Mike Sheehan from Queenstown. Sheehan, stepping up out of the older Mirage 1600cc that he had campaigned in the first half of the Mainland season, deputed the car at Rally Canterbury. After an assault in 2018 on the Mainland Rally Series class B title, Sheehan would take out the trophy and further build up his experience competing all around the countryside. An appearance of Dave Holder in the car towards the end of the season added to a talented list of drivers to take the wheel. Now the 2019 season is upon us Sheehan has stepped up to the National Championship in what is shaping to be another highly anticipated 2019 rally season.
In 2020, the car was sold to Brendon Wadsworth.
In late 2021, it was sold to Lukas Ramsay
